Federal Court Of Canada Decides In Favor Of Pfizer In A Dispute Concerning Viagra Patent

The Canadian Federal Court has reportedly protected the patent of the erectile dysfunction drug Viagra by announcing that Novopharm won`t be permitted to sell generic Viagra until the expiration of the drug patent.
Further, in a 54-page ruling, judge Michael Kelen states that till the expiration of the '446 Viagra patent in 2014, the Canadian Minister of Health is refrained from approving Novopharm's generic Viagra (sildenafil citrate) tablets, namely, 25mg, 50mg and 100 mg tablets.
