Viagra Emerges As A Useful Aid In High Altitude Exercise Performance
Viagra, the erectile dysfunction drug has been proved rewarding to a certain extent in speeding up exercise involved tasks like cycling on a high altitude level.
According to a report in the Journal of Applied Physiology published by The American Physiological Society, at a height of 12,700 feet when ten cyclists were administered with Viagra it was found that they reached their destination by 15% less time in comparison to their performance under placebo trial. During the experiment Viagra was also found to increase blood flow from the heart as well as heart rate along with effectively regulating the arterial oxygen saturation.
The testing led the researchers to the discovery that while Viagra efficacy may be extremely advantageous on some people, the drug may also be ineffective on a certain section. It was found that on one hand, Viagra induced improvement in cyclists reached to a maximum of 45% but the non-responders were benefited by as little as 1%.
